Scott Lumen eRIDE 900 Info
The Scott Lumen eRide is a high-level eMTB that is very lightweight and gives you a natural ride feel. It can perform equally as well on cross country or trail terrain thanks to adjustable features and unique integration. The Lumen was built with the inspiration of some of Scott’s highest performing mountain bikes with the addition of a near-silent motor for assisted performance. It performs like a standard mountain bike, so no need to worry about increased braking distance, pedal drag, or heavy pedaling. In fact, you can turn the assistance off and ride it like a regular mountain bike. The Scott Lumen eRide takes trail riding to the next level, allowing you to access every part of the toughest trails.
The frame of the Lumen eRide is made with Scott’s HMX carbon fiber. This is their lightest material that is used on their professional level race bikes. For the Lumen, the frame was separated into two areas: the lightweight zone, and the stiffness zone. This allows for the Lumen to be lighter than the huge majority of eBikes while remaining strong and stiff enough for powerful sprinting. Overall, the bike comes in at about 15.5kg. The frame maintains a low center of gravity as well to account for the extra weight of the motor, allowing you to feel just as balanced as you would on a typical trail bike.
Scott incorporated a powerful motor with a minimalist design into the Lumen. The German company TQ provided the HPR50 motor to Scott, offering an unheard of weight to power ratio of 1.8kg for 50Nm. With near silent function, this motor offers high power in a compact and balanced package. It is powered by a 360Wh internal battery which can be enhanced with a separate 160Wh external range extender. No matter how much battery life is left, you will experience maximum performance. The whole system is controlled with a minimalistic handlebar remote which is integrated with the top tube display. It is placed in a spot that is easy to reach while riding or walking.
The Scott Lumen eRide is a full suspension mountain bike that falls into the category of mid-travel. This version is equipped with a Fox Nude 5T suspension for 130mm of rear travel. Its TwinLoc suspension system allows you to cycle through three modes depending on riding conditions. Descend, traction control, and lockout modes change the bike’s geometry to best suit your ride. At the front there is a Fox Float Performance Elite 34 Fork for an additional 130mm of front travel, also coming with three modes. The head angle can also be adjusted with 65.5 degrees being the starting point in case you need a more or less aggressive position.
An integrated setup brings everything in the Scott Lumen eRide together. Cables can be routed internally assuring a clean cockpit where everything is safe from the elements of the trail. This version is equipped with a SRAM GX Eagle AXS groupset for affordable performance electronic shifting. It is very easy to mount a computer which then connects to the TQ App. The app allows you to fully customize your system, including your screens, power output, and more with ANT+ connectivity. Even the bottle cages can be properly integrated with mounts that allow room for a bottle cage and a range extender. The Scott Lumen eRide is a new way to ride any trail with confidence.
