Scott Voltage eRIDE 920 Bike Info
The Scott Voltage eRIDE 920 Bike occupies a specific and well-defined space in the eMTB market: full carbon construction, genuine trail geometry, and a TQ HPR50 Mid Motor Drive that prioritizes smooth, proportional power delivery over brute torque numbers. It isn't an entry point or a beginner's first eMTB — the $6,599.99 price puts it in company with capable hardware: HMF carbon frame, Fox rear shock, Marzocchi fork, Shimano XT drivetrain, and SRAM 4-piston brakes. What Scott has built here is a trail bike that happens to have 50Nm of assist available, not an eMTB that happens to resemble a trail bike. The carbon frame and full-travel suspension hold their own regardless of the motor; the TQ HPR50 just makes it possible to ride more terrain, more often.
The TQ HPR50 Mid Motor Drive produces a maximum of 50Nm of torque and provides assist up to 20mph. Scott has integrated it close to the bottom bracket to minimize changes to the bike's weight distribution and keep the frame silhouette clean. The 360Wh internal battery covers most riders' single-day range requirements, and the system is designed to accept a range extender for longer routes or bigger days in the mountains. A top-tube-mounted display shows real-time battery and range data with Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity, and the TQ app provides deeper system monitoring for riders who want more granular output. The motor and battery are housed in a way that keeps the frame's weight balance noticeably closer to a conventional trail bike than most full-power eMTBs in this class — a result of the HPR50's compact dimensions and Scott's decision to prioritize ride feel over maximum output.
The HMF carbon fiber frame is built around geometry that reflects serious trail riding priorities. A 63.9° head tube angle keeps the front wheel stable at speed and planted through technical, root-covered terrain. The 77.1° seat tube angle positions your weight directly over the pedals on ascents — steeper than most older trail bikes, and a meaningful advantage on sustained climbs where a slacker seat angle bleeds power transfer and encourages a backward, inefficient climbing position. Chainstay length holds at 455mm across all four sizes (Small through XL), giving each frame consistent rear-wheel behavior regardless of rider height. Reach scales from 437.4mm on the Small, to 457.2mm on the Medium, 485mm on the Large, and 512.7mm on the XL — long and low without being extreme.
Suspension pairs a Marzocchi Z2 Air Rail fork — 150mm of travel, 15x110mm thru-axle — against a Fox Float Custom EVOL Performance Trunnion shock with 155mm of rear travel. The Fox Float EVOL is designed to handle the elevated demands eMTB use places on rear suspension: heavier system weight, higher sustained descent speeds, and more frequent repeated impacts. A built-in sag indicator on the rear shock simplifies initial setup and lets you verify your suspension baseline before heading out rather than adjusting mid-ride. At 150/155mm of combined travel, the Voltage eRIDE 920 sits firmly in all-mountain trail territory — capable on technical descents without the weight penalty of a dedicated enduro build.
The drivetrain leads with a Shimano XT M8100 rear derailleur paired with Shimano Deore M6100 shifters and a 10-51 12-speed cassette. The 10-51 range handles the full spectrum of eMTB terrain: tight ratios for flat-trail efficiency, wide ratios for steep climbing. An FSA Alloy 34T single chainring keeps the front end clean. Brakes are SRAM DB8 4-piston hydraulic disc calipers with 200mm Centerline rotors front and rear — the appropriate hardware for a bike that carries the added weight of a motor and battery. Four pistons provide the modulation and stopping power that 2-piston systems struggle to sustain on long, steep descents at eMTB speeds. The Syncros Duncan Dropper seatpost runs size-specific travel: 140mm on the Small, 180mm on the Medium, and 210mm on the Large and XL.
Syncros X-30S tubeless-compatible wheels roll on Maxxis Dissector 29x2.6 tires across all four sizes — full 29-inch throughout, with a tire spec that handles hard-pack to intermediate trail conditions well and rolls efficiently at the sustained speeds the HPR50 motor enables. The 780mm Syncros Hixon 2.0 aluminum handlebar and Syncros AM 2.0 stem deliver a wide, controlled steering position with 12mm of bar rise and an 8° backsweep. Pedals are not included. For riders considering a move from a conventional trail bike to an eMTB, or upgrading from an aluminum platform, the Scott Voltage eRIDE 920 makes a strong case at this price. It is available in Cream/Black.
