The Rotor Q-Ring Aero Red Outer Chainring takes Rotor's well-established oval ring concept and adds a solid, CNC-machined 7075 aluminum plate construction — anodized red. Where a standard Q-Ring has an open spider pattern, the aero version fills that space in, reducing turbulence as the ring spins and adding a degree of stiffness that tightens up shifting and power transfer.
The oval geometry is the core of what makes this chainring different from a standard round ring. Rotor's Q-Rings run at 10% ovality, which means the effective gearing shifts through the pedal stroke — easing through the dead spots at the top and bottom, then loading up mechanical advantage when your legs are pushing through the power phase. Three Optimum Chainring Positions — Rotor's OCP3 system — let you dial in exactly where that peak leverage hits in your stroke. A positioning guide is included to help you find the right setting for your pedaling style.
