Time Fluidity Frameset Info

The Time Fluidity Frameset is the return of Time's longtime best-selling endurance frame, rebuilt for riders who don't want to choose between speed and distance. Time built this generation around a more upright endurance geometry than its pure race frames — a position meant to keep shoulders relaxed and breathing easy over long days, without asking riders to give up the responsiveness that makes a road bike feel alive. It's a frame built for gran fondos, long club rides, and the kind of days where the goal is finishing strong, not just finishing fast.

What separates the Fluidity from most carbon framesets is its construction. Time builds the frame using its Braided Carbon Structure process, enhanced with Dyneema fiber woven directly into the carbon layup — something Time says is difficult to achieve with the pre-preg carbon most other brands use. The result is a frame that dissipates high-frequency road vibration before it reaches the rider, cutting fatigue over long distances, while staying lighter than standard carbon fiber at equivalent strength. The fork carries a Kevlar-enhanced version of the same construction philosophy, tapered from 1-1/8" to 1-1/2" at the steerer for a stiff, precise front end.

Tire clearance is where the Fluidity's endurance intent shows up most clearly: up to 40mm, achieved with 425mm chainstays. That's a tighter rear end than many endurance frames that only clear 32mm, and it means the Fluidity doesn't sacrifice quick, road-bike handling to get there. Wider tires at lower pressure smooth out rough pavement and improve grip in corners — a tradeoff more of the pro peloton has embraced in recent seasons, not just a comfort concession for long-distance riders.

The build details point toward a frame meant to age well and stay serviceable. The rear derailleur mount uses SRAM's UDH standard, keeping the frame compatible with modern direct-mount derailleurs, and the frame works with any electronic shifting system on the market. Cable routing runs through Time's ACR system at the headset for a clean front end without exposed housing, the seatpost uses an integrated hidden clamp at a standard 27.2mm diameter, and the bottom bracket is a PF386 EVO press-fit shell. Front and rear flat mount disc brakes and thru axles are required and included with the frameset.

At $3,999 for the frameset, the Fluidity is priced as an accessible way into Time's carbon construction and endurance geometry, well below what a complete build at this level typically costs. It's built in Europe, with color options that leave the braided carbon structure visible on the surface rather than hiding it — including a raw, ready-to-paint finish for riders who want to spec their own custom scheme. This is a frame for the rider planning a build around a long-distance goal: a first Gran Fondo, a personal-best attempt on a familiar climb, or simply more comfortable miles without a slower bike.

The RA Perspective

The Fluidity has a reputation to live up to — it was Time's best-selling frame before this redesign, and the questions we get most are about whether the new version still has that smoothness people remember. The Dyneema-enhanced construction is the real story here: it's noticeably better at soaking up small road vibration than a standard carbon layup, which matters more on a five-hour ride than most riders expect going in.

The 40mm tire clearance is worth taking seriously rather than treating as a spec-sheet number. Paired with the shorter 425mm chainstays, the frame still handles like a proper road bike even with wider rubber mounted, which isn't true of every endurance frame in this tire-clearance range.

One thing to plan for: this is frameset-only, and the PF386 EVO press-fit bottom bracket and braze-on front derailleur mount mean your builder should be comfortable with press-fit BB installation rather than threaded. Not a dealbreaker, just something to flag before you commit to a groupset.

We'd point this frame at someone training for a long event — a Gran Fondo, a double century, a multi-day tour — who wants genuine performance and doesn't want to feel it in their shoulders four hours in.
