Q36.5 Adventure Baggy Shorts Info
The Q36.5 Adventure Baggy Shorts are lightweight baggy cycling shorts for gravel, mountain bike and general off-road riding. Q36.5 calls the design a new sartorial take on baggy shorts, and the practical difference from most baggies is the weight. Q36.5 lists size M at 160 g. They are cut from a high-density woven 4-way stretch fabric made of 63% polyamide and 37% elastane, so the shorts move with you on the pedals rather than catching on the saddle.
Fabric and Fit
The woven fabric has a durable water-repellent treatment, which Q36.5 says gives faster drying times. The brand also cites natural wind resistance, breathability and high resistance to pilling, and says the shorts suit temperatures above 25°C. Q36.5 describes a pre-shaped fit and a waist closure designed for micro fit adjustment, which the brand says reduces pressure on the waist and improves stability.
Two zippered side-panel pockets are sealed with cam-lock zippers, so a phone, keys or a card stay put over rough ground.
No Chamois Built In
These shorts have no liner. Q36.5 says they are devised without a chamois and should be worn over your favorite shorts. That is a real point to consider before you buy: you will need a separate padded base short underneath. The upside is that you choose the pad that suits you, and you can wash and replace the base layer without replacing the shorts.
Sizing and Colors
The Adventure Baggy Shorts are made in Italy, within Q36.5's production area around its Bolzano headquarters. Sizes run from XXS to XXL at RA Cycles, and the shorts come in Black. Q36.5's size chart gives chest, waist, height and weight ranges for each size. Check it against your measurements, and think about the base short you plan to wear underneath when you pick a size.
For riders who want baggy shorts with real pockets and very low weight, and who already own a good padded base short, this is the Q36.5 answer to that brief.
