PRO builds the Vibe Alloy Compact Handlebar to be just like the Vibe Carbon, just in a more economical material. You get the same drop, the same reach, the same oversized top section, just in aluminum.

The alloy chosen is AL-7075. It’s light, strong, easy to work with, and durable. There are plenty of people who prefer the predictability and reliability of aluminum over carbon. If it gives you confidence, it’s worth the few extra grams—in this case the 38cm center-to-center bar weighs in at 240g.

The bar is also very stiff. This is thanks to PRO continuing the use of an oversized top section all the way from the hooks on one side to the hooks on the other. They’ve taken the 31.8mm clamp diameter center section and just continued it on out. This adds to the overall stiffness, as well as giving you more to hold on to. The diameter transitions to the standard diameter as the forward reach of the drops begin.

The drops are a compact shape, with 130mm of drop and 80mm of reach. The curve is such that there’s an easy, flat transition from the tops to the hoods, and, despite the shallow drop, the curve makes the drops feel roomy. The bend is a fairly traditional rounded shape.

The bars have internal routing for Di2 cables. You’ll see the intake port on the drops below where you run your brakes, this is because they didn’t want to put the port in a high-stress section of the bar. There are exit ports by the stem, both for routing internally through a Di2 stem for a battery, and routing back externally for the rest of the controls.

The PRO Vibe Alloy Handlebars are available in 38, 40, 42, and 44cm widths, measured center-to-center.
