The disc gets progressively wider from the rim bed outward: 39mm at 79mm from the rim bed, 46mm at 158mm, and 51mm at the widest point at 237mm from the rim bed. That progressive taper is characteristic of a properly engineered lenticular profile. The 24mm rim bed width puts the tire at the correct width to smooth the aerodynamic transition from tire to wheel — Shimano recommends tubular tires of 24mm or wider for this reason.

Dura-Ace FH-9000 Hub and Compatibility

The hub is Shimano's Dura-Ace FH-9000 rear hub, the top-tier production rear hub from Shimano's flagship groupset family. The FH-9000 delivers smooth, consistent bearing performance and a freehub body that accepts standard Shimano HG cassettes for 10- and 11-speed drivetrains, compatible with SRAM cassettes sharing the same spline pattern. The axle is 130mm quick release — the standard spacing for road and TT frames. This is a rim brake wheel for quick release dropouts. Before purchasing, verify rear triangle clearance on your frame. The lenticular non-drive side profile is significantly wider than a standard rim, and it may not fit all chainstay and seatstay configurations. Shimano recommends measuring the left side of the rear triangle to confirm fitment. The wheel ships with a quick release skewer, valve extender, wheel bag, and a sticker to cover the valve hole.
