The tool's two hardened steel pins seat directly into the pin holes of adjusting cups, and the adjustable design spans pin holes from 10mm to 45mm apart, covering a wide range of older and current cup-and-cone configurations. The 2.9mm pins fit the standard hole size found on most threaded bottom bracket cups.
The handle is dipped in green vinyl, which does two things: it gives you a comfortable grip during the kind of stubborn, torque-heavy work that bottom bracket servicing often requires, and it makes the SPA-1 immediately identifiable in a drawer full of tools.
