Pivot Shuttle AM Ride Eagle 70/90 Bike Info

The Pivot Shuttle AM Ride Eagle 70/90 Bike is the entry point into Pivot's all-mountain e-MTB platform, and it doesn't cut corners to get there. Pivot builds the Shuttle AM as its benchmark all-mountain e-bike, and the Ride build carries the same carbon front triangle and 150mm/160mm travel as the Pro and Team tiers above it, just paired with a more accessible RockShox suspension package and SRAM's mechanical Eagle drivetrain instead of AXS. For riders who want big-mountain capability on 29-inch wheels without stepping up to Pivot's flagship builds, this is where the Shuttle AM lineup starts.

Power comes from Bosch's Gen 5 Performance Line CX motor paired with an 800Wh battery, run through the Bosch eBike Flow app. The Gen 5 system is built for stronger low-end torque and quicker engagement than previous Bosch generations, and the app's eMTB+ mode adjusts assist in real time based on pedal input and trail conditions rather than a fixed support curve. Riders who want more range beyond the stock 800Wh can add Bosch's PowerMore 250 range extender, a bottle-shaped 250Wh unit that mounts to the frame without permanently altering the bike's setup.

The frame itself uses a carbon front triangle with an alloy rear triangle, delivering 150mm of rear travel matched to a RockShox Lyrik Select+ fork up front running 160mm at a 44mm offset. A RockShox Super Deluxe Select shock handles the rear end. Geometry leans toward stability at speed, with a 64.1 to 64.5-degree head tube angle across sizes and a steep 76.5 to 76.9-degree seat tube angle that keeps pedaling position efficient on the climbs despite the slack front end. A size-specific dropper post, running from 150mm on the small frame up to 200mm on large and extra-large, gives riders room to move on descents without swapping parts.

Drivetrain duties go to SRAM's Eagle 70/90 mechanical transmission, a 12-speed setup built around a 10-52 cassette and a 34-tooth chainring on an FSA crankset. Like SRAM's other Eagle Transmission derailleurs, it mounts directly to the frame without a derailleur hanger, which means fewer bent hangers and shifting that stays consistent even after a hard hit on rocky terrain. Braking comes from SRAM's DB8 Stealth 4-piston calipers on 200mm Centerline rotors front and rear, giving enough stopping power for sustained descents with a loaded e-bike's added weight.

Rolling stock is a set of DT Swiss E532 rims, 30mm wide, mounted with Maxxis Minion DHF up front and Minion DHR II out back, both in a 29x2.5/2.4 WT fit with EXO+ casing and MaxxTerra compound. It's a proven front-and-rear pairing for aggressive trail and enduro riding, biased toward cornering grip and puncture resistance over outright rolling speed. Phoenix-branded cockpit parts round out the build, with a low-rise aluminum bar, an enduro/trail stem, and lock-on grips. Between the motor's real-time assist tuning, the dropper-equipped geometry, and a drivetrain built to shrug off trail damage, the Shuttle AM Ride Eagle 70/90 is built for riders chasing long days in technical, big-mountain terrain who want that capability without paying for Pivot's top-tier build kits.

The RA Perspective

The Shuttle AM Ride is where we point customers who want a genuinely capable all-mountain e-bike without spending Pro or Team money. The frame and travel numbers are identical to the builds above it, so you're not losing anything on the chassis side. What changes is the parts hanging off it, and the Ride build's choices are smart ones rather than corner-cutting.

The Bosch Gen 5 motor is the standout. The eMTB+ mode reading trail input in real time makes a noticeable difference on technical climbs where a fixed assist curve tends to either overpower the front wheel or leave you spinning out. It's the kind of feature that's easy to dismiss on a spec sheet and obvious the first time you're picking a line through roots and loose rock.

The tradeoff with a mechanical Eagle transmission instead of AXS is that you lose wireless shifting, but you gain simplicity and one less battery to manage. For riders who don't obsess over drivetrain weight or wireless convenience, mechanical Eagle shifts just as crisply and is easier to service on the road. The DT Swiss wheels and Maxxis Minion combo are exactly what we'd spec ourselves for mixed enduro and all-mountain terrain.

This is the bike we'd recommend to someone who rides technical trails regularly, wants real climbing assistance rather than a token boost, and doesn't need the last few percent of suspension performance that Pro and Team builds offer. It's a serious e-MTB at a price that doesn't require a Team-tier budget.
