Wilier Urta Ultimate XT Bike w/RockShox SID Ultimate Info
The Wilier Urta Ultimate XT Bike w/RockShox SID Ultimate is the more accessible way into Wilier's full-suspension carbon mountain bike, pairing the same 120mm frame platform as the brand's flagship build with Shimano XT Di2 electronic shifting. Wilier has been building bikes in Bassano del Grappa since 1906, and the Urta carries that racing background into cross-country: 120mm of travel at both ends, 29-inch wheels, and a one-piece carbon cockpit.
The frame is listed as Toray M40X carbon, a higher-modulus fiber used to keep weight down while holding stiffness where it matters. A RockShox SID Ultimate 3P shock controls the rear travel and a RockShox SID Ultimate fork matches it up front. That 120/120 pairing is a standard modern cross-country setup. It stays quick when you stand and sprint, and gives enough cushion on rooty climbs and rock gardens to keep you fresher over a long ride than a hardtail would.
Geometry built for speed on real trails
The Urta lists two head angle settings: 66.5 degrees for technical trails and 65.5 degrees for fast, open terrain. Both are slacker than a traditional XC race bike, which generally means more confidence on descents without a big penalty on the climbs. A 76.8-degree seat angle keeps your weight over the cranks on steep pitches, and the 433mm chainstays are the same on all four sizes (S through XL), so the rear-end feel stays consistent as you move through the range. A medium has 452mm of reach and 596mm of top tube.
The cockpit is a Wilier Urta Max one-piece carbon bar and stem with a -27 degree stem angle. Integrating the two removes the clamp and bolts of a conventional setup, and the steep drop sets you in a low, race-ready position. The headset is an Acros AMX-005, and a KS LEV SI dropper post lets you drop the saddle for technical descents and raise it again for the climb.
Shimano XT Di2 drivetrain
Shifting is Shimano XT Di2, the electronic version of Shimano's trail-focused XT group, with an XT Di2 shifter and rear derailleur. Electronic shifting means a light button press instead of a cable pull, and shifts stay consistent whatever the conditions. A 32-tooth chainring works with a 12-speed XT 10-51 cassette, giving you a wide range for steep climbs and fast flats. The Shimano XT M8200 crankset sits on a Shimano Pressfit BB-MT800-PA bottom bracket.
Braking is Shimano XT M8200 hydraulic discs and levers. Using one brand for shifting, braking and the crankset keeps the build simple to service, and replacement parts are easy to find at almost any shop.
Wheels, tires and finishing touches
Miche K6 wheels are fitted at both ends, wrapped in Vittoria Saguaro 29 x 2.25 tires. The saddle is a Selle San Marco Shortfit 2.0 Open-Fit Narrow. Pedals are not included, so you can fit the system you already ride. The Team Edition colorway comes in sizes S through XL.
At $8,800, the Urta Ultimate XT is for riders who race cross-country, chase long mountain days, or want an Italian carbon mountain bike with electronic shifting and a dropper already in place. It is not the bike if you want a long-travel trail machine. It is the one for people who want to go fast uphill without dreading the way down.
