Mondraker Zendit R Bike Info
The Mondraker Zendit R Bike is a 165mm-travel enduro e-MTB built around the Avinox M2S motor and a slim internal 800Wh battery. It takes the carbon front triangle from Mondraker's flagship Zendit and pairs it with a new alloy rear end and rocker link, which is how the Spanish brand brought the Zendit platform to a wider group of riders. It sits below the all-carbon RR, RR S and XR models and above the Zendit S, and Mondraker describes the whole family as being about how the bike rides and how it makes you feel.
The frame uses Mondraker's Stealth Air Carbon front triangle with a Stealth Alloy rear triangle. The battery is internal and the cables run through the frame with Mondraker's HHG internal routing. The frame has a Boost 12x148mm rear axle, a universal derailleur hanger, and a one-piece Monoblock upper link. For maintenance, the Zendit R uses single-size Enduro Max bearings throughout, with two extra rubber seals that Mondraker says help them last longer against dirt and water.
Mullet wheels and Forward Geometry
The Zendit R runs a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear. Mondraker says its engineering and test team found the mullet setup works best on this platform, for straight-line speed and confidence up front and traction and maneuverability at the back. The front is a Maxxis Assegai 29x2.5, the rear a Maxxis Minion DHR II 27.5x2.5, both on DT Swiss Hybrid H 1900 Spline rims with a 30mm internal width.
Geometry follows Mondraker's evolved Forward Geometry, with a long reach and a slack front end. In the Standard position, the head angle is 63.5 degrees, the bottom bracket height is 345mm and the effective seat angle is 77 degrees. A flip chip at the lower shock mount switches to the Low setting, which gives a 63.15 degree head angle, a 340mm bottom bracket, a 76.65 degree seat angle and 4mm less reach. A size medium has a 460mm reach and a 631mm stack, and chainstays are 450mm on S, M and ML sizes and 455mm on L and XL. Mondraker adjusts the pivot placement by size so every frame keeps the same leverage ratio, which means a small and an extra large should feel the same in the way the suspension moves through its stroke.
Suspension, motor and brakes
Rear travel is 165mm from Mondraker's Zero Suspension System, controlled by a Fox Float-X LV Performance shock. Up front, a Fox 38 Float GRIP Performance fork provides 170mm of travel and is tuned for e-bike use. Power comes from the Avinox M2S drive system, controlled with the Avinox DP100 display and a wireless BC100 controller on both sides of the bar. Mondraker calls it its most integrated motor and battery design to date, and says the M2S in the Zendit R is the same motor used in the carbon models.
Stopping an e-bike with this much travel takes serious brakes. The Zendit R has SRAM Maven Base four-piston brakes with 200mm rotors at both ends. The drivetrain is SRAM Eagle AXS T-Type, with an S1000 rear derailleur, a 10-52 cassette and a 36-tooth chainring on e*thirteen Helix Core E*Spec Plus cranks. At 155mm, the cranks are short, which gives you more ground clearance in technical terrain.
Cockpit and fit
The Onoff cockpit is a 30mm stem with an 800mm bar, 8 degrees of backsweep and 5 degrees of upsweep. Bar rise is 25mm, increasing to 38mm on the L and XL sizes. The Onoff Pija dropper post scales with frame size, from 140mm travel on the S up to 210mm on the L and XL, so shorter riders do not give up saddle drop and taller riders get a lot of it. An Ergon SM10 E-Mountain saddle and Onoff Desert Pro lock-on grips finish the build. Pedals are not included.
The Zendit R is aimed at riders who want a long-travel e-MTB with the Zendit's geometry and motor and are comfortable with an alloy rear end in place of full carbon. It suits steep, technical trails and long descents where a mullet bike with 165mm of rear travel and a slack head angle is in its element.
