Mondraker Anark XR Bike Info

The Mondraker Anark XR Bike is a 180mm-fork, 170mm-rear-travel aluminum freeride bike built for bike park laps and uplift days. It joins Mondraker's gravity range for 2026, and the brand describes it as a fun-first design: a bike for finding the long line, hitting the natural kicker at the trail's edge and doing it again. It builds on the Foxy platform and draws on Mondraker's race development program, but the intent here is speed for the thrill rather than for the stopwatch.

Frame and suspension

The frame is 6061 aluminum in Mondraker's Stealth Alloy EVO construction, with variable-thickness hydroformed tubing, a compact reinforced swingarm, internal cable routing and rubber chainstay silencers. An integrated downtube protector is designed to guard the frame and make shuttle loading quicker. Every pivot uses a single bearing size with extra inner and outer sealing, the same arrangement Mondraker uses on the Summum and Zendit.

Rear suspension is the updated Zero Suspension System, which Mondraker says combines the kinematics of the Summum with the responsiveness of the Zendit in a lighter platform. The numbers Mondraker publishes point to a coil-friendly design: a 25% progression rate in the leverage ratio, anti-squat of around 98% at sag and anti-rise of around 99.7%. The company recommends 30% sag. The goal is a sensitive initial stroke for grip and a planted feel when speed goes up.

The XR spec puts Öhlins at both ends. The RXF 38 M.3 fork offers 180mm of travel with a TTX18 twin-tube cartridge, a high-speed compression lever with climb mode, low-speed compression, rebound, air preload and a ramp chamber. At the rear is a TTX 22M.2 coil shock in a 205x65mm size, with a high-speed compression lever with climb mode, plus low-speed compression and rebound adjustment.

Geometry and handling

The Anark XR runs a mullet layout: a 29-inch front wheel for rollover and a 27.5-inch rear for a shorter, more flickable back end. Chainstays are 445mm across all five sizes, S through XL, and reach runs from 440mm on the small to 520mm on the extra-large. The head angle is 63.5 degrees in the standard setting, and a single-bolt flip chip drops the head angle to 63.15 degrees and the bottom bracket by about 4.5mm, to 341mm, for riders who want a lower, more locked-in feel. Mondraker adjusted the pivot positions across sizes so each one delivers the same leverage ratio and kinematics.

Build

The drivetrain is SRAM 90 Eagle T-Type, with a 32-tooth chainring and a 10-52 cassette, on a frame with a UDH hanger. Stopping power comes from SRAM Maven Base four-piston brakes with 200mm Centerline rotors, a sensible choice for bike park descents. The e*thirteen Grappler Core wheels are welded 6066 aluminum with a 30mm internal width, and they are tubeless-ready. Maxxis supplies the tires: a Minion Assegai 29x2.5 with 3C Maxx Grip and DH casing up front, and a Minion DHR II 27.5x2.5 with 3C Maxx Terra and DH protection in the rear.

Mondraker's own Onoff cockpit handles the controls: an 800mm bar with 8 degrees of backsweep, a 30mm stem, Desert Pro grips and a Pija internal dropper whose travel scales with frame size, from 140mm on the small to 210mm on the large and extra-large. The saddle is an Ergon Enduro SPS20. Pedals are not included, so you can fit the flats or clipless pedals you already prefer.

Who it is for

The Anark XR suits riders who spend their time in lift-served terrain, on shuttle runs and in the steeper, rougher corners of a trail network. Mondraker notes that it can still be pedaled uphill, and the climb lever on the fork and shock supports that, but it really shines when the trail points down. It is a bike for riders who want a capable, durable alloy gravity machine with a premium suspension spec, offered in Raw Alloy.

The RA Perspective

The Anark XR reads as a bike park machine from the spec sheet down. A 180mm Öhlins fork, a coil Öhlins shock, 200mm rotors and DH-casing tires tell you what it is for before you swing a leg over it, and at this price the spec is a big part of the appeal.

The mullet setup and 445mm chainstays point to a bike that should feel quick to flick around and easy to get sideways, while the 63.5-degree head angle and long reach options keep it stable at speed. The flip chip gives you a lower, slacker setting if you want it, which is useful for riders who spend most of their time on steeper, rougher terrain.

The tradeoffs are the ones you would expect from a bike with this travel and intent. A coil rear shock and DH-casing tires add weight and rolling resistance, so this is not the bike we would recommend for long all-day pedaling. The climb levers help, but this is built for lift laps and shuttles, not backcountry loops. Pedals are not included either, so budget for those.

We would recommend it to riders who ride bike parks regularly and want a durable alloy frame with a high-end suspension package, without paying carbon prices. When the day is lifts, laps and dust, this is the bike we would reach for.
