Giordana Men's FR-C Pro Bib Knicker Info

The Giordana Men's FR-C Pro Bib Knicker extends the FR-C Pro line's race-ready fit into knee-length coverage, built for the shoulder-season rides that fall between shorts weather and full tights. Giordana built the FR-C Pro cut to sit close to the body like a second skin, a fit the brand has refined through years of use with WorldTour teams, and the knicker carries that same silhouette down to the knee rather than cutting off mid-thigh.

HC50 High Compression Power Lycra makes up the primary fabric, giving the knicker a compressive, barely-there feel rather than the bulk you'd expect from added leg coverage. Giordana's Core Contour System paneling shapes the fit through the leg, and lightweight mesh inserts at the knee regulate temperature so the added length doesn't turn into added heat on a warming afternoon. That combination is what makes the knicker work across a wider temperature range than bib shorts alone — enough coverage for a cool spring start, breathable enough to stay comfortable once the sun's out.

The Cirro S OmniForm chamois anchors the knicker's comfort, built with Aloe Vera infusion and positioned as Giordana's top-tier chamois option, so the added leg length doesn't come at the expense of the pad quality riders expect from the FR-C Pro line. Made in Italy and available in Black, sizes XS through 3XL, this knicker suits road riders who want one piece of kit to bridge unpredictable shoulder-season temperatures rather than swapping between shorts and knee warmers mid-ride.

The RA Perspective

Knickers are one of those categories riders either swear by or ignore entirely, and the FR-C Pro version is a good argument for the former. The knee-length cut solves a real problem: knee warmers slipping or bunching during a hard effort, especially once you're out of the saddle on a climb. Having the coverage built into the garment itself removes that variable.

The HC50 fabric feels close to what we'd expect from Giordana's regular FR-C Pro bib shorts — compressive without feeling tight, and it doesn't bunch behind the knee the way some knicker designs do. The knee mesh does its job on a warming morning; we haven't found it running noticeably hotter than a standard bib once temperatures climb into the 60s.

Where it makes the most sense is early season riding and fall rides with a wide temperature swing — cool at the start, warm by the finish. It's a narrower use case than a standard bib short, so riders who mostly ride in stable warm weather won't get as much value out of the extra coverage.

We'd recommend this to road riders doing regular shoulder-season miles who are tired of managing knee warmers and want one piece of kit that handles the temperature swing on its own.
