The Q36.5 Dottore Thermobolik Winter Skinsuit is a one-piece winter cycling skinsuit that replaces the usual stack of jersey, jacket and bib tights. Q36.5 designed it for cold-weather riding without the bulk of layering, and it keeps the race-oriented cut the Italian brand is known for. The goal is warmth you don't have to manage: no seams at the waist, no flapping layers, and no extra pressure in the riding position.
Three fabrics, each with a job
The suit combines three of Q36.5's proprietary materials. UF Air Insulation sits in the shoulders and sleeves to build a warm interior layer. Over the shoulders and sleeves, UF Hybrid Shell Plus, a high-density elastic woven fabric, protects the exterior from wind and weather. In the side panels and long legs, UF Thermo Plus has a "Heat Fiber" inner face that Q36.5 says draws in far-infrared rays to help warm the body. The overall composition is 45% polyamide, 35% polyester, 13% elastane, 5% polyurethane and 2% silver.
Removable wind membrane
When the temperature drops or the wind picks up, a wind membrane fastens across the chest with three magnetic buttons. When you don't need it, it stows in an invisible pocket on the shoulder, so you can adjust to changing conditions without stopping to carry a separate vest. Q36.5 also includes lightweight hidden pockets for small items such as an ID, phone or gels, and a waistband with added protection for the abdomen.
Fit and visibility
Q36.5 describes the fit as race-oriented without sacrificing insulation, and the suit is cut so you don't need extra layers underneath in its intended range. For low-light winter rides, two reflective bands follow the upper body, with additional 4D-printed reflective details on the shoulders, arms and back. At 650 g in size M, it is a substantial garment, but it replaces what would otherwise be several pieces.
