Lezyne was founded in March 2007 by Micki Kozuschek — a German-born former professional triathlete who had previously built Truvativ, a drivetrain component brand he sold to SRAM in 2004. Two years later, he started Lezyne with a focus on accessories: a category he felt was underserved by products made from inferior materials with little design rigour. The brand's Engineered Design philosophy has defined everything since — CNC machining, dedicated manufacturing partners in Taichung, Taiwan, and a product team of working cyclists who test everything before release.
