Silca Maratona WEB Gear Bag Info
The Silca Maratona WEB Gear Bag is a 45-liter travel pack built for cyclists who fly to ride. It measures 22" x 14" x 9" (55.9 x 35.6 x 22.9 cm), which Silca sizes to meet standard airline carry-on requirements, and it weighs about 1 kg. The exterior is ripstop nylon with YKK weatherproof, heavy-duty zippers, and Silca says the main zipper was upgraded to absorb the impacts and abrasions of baggage claim.
The helmet carry is the feature that sets this gear bag apart. A webbed pocket on the front of the bag holds your helmet with Fidlock magnetic clasps, so it stays outside the main compartment and off the top of your clothes. To release it, you pull the integrated red tabs sideways, and the system stows in its own pouch when you're not using it.
Inside, a divided shoe compartment keeps dirty cycling shoes away from clean clothes. A bandolier-style elastic loop holds CO2 cartridges and lube bottles upright, and soft microfiber-lined storage protects electronics. There are also dedicated pockets for a used kit and a water bottle. The padded backpack straps carry the load across your shoulders and unclip to tuck into the bag's lining, leaving a snag-free profile if you check the bag.
Silca designed the Maratona for casual clothes, cycling gear and shoes for two- to three-day race weekends, and says testing showed it holding enough for week-long international trips. For riders who travel for events, training camps or gran fondos, it works as a cabin bag or a daily pack once you're there.
