ENVE Melee V2 Frameset is the second generation of ENVE's first production road bike, and it exists to answer one question: how much faster can a race frame get without asking the rider to give anything up. The original Melee, introduced in 2022, established ENVE as a frame builder rather than just a wheel and component company. The V2 builds on that foundation into what ENVE positions as a genuine World Tour-level race platform.
The development story is the headline here. ENVE built the Melee V2 under its "Real World Fast" protocol, testing at the Mercedes-Petronas wind tunnel with aerodynamicist Simon Smart, and critically, testing with a rider actually on the bike rather than relying on tube shapes optimized in isolation. The result is a frame ENVE claims is 17 watts faster than the original Melee at race speed, with 11.4 of those watts coming directly from the redesigned frame, fork, and seatpost. ENVE also cut the frame's total surface area by 7.5 percent, which is where a meaningful share of that aero gain comes from.
Weight got the same attention as aerodynamics. The Melee V2 frame comes in under 800 grams in a size 56cm, built from ENVE's M.O.D. carbon. A BSA threaded bottom bracket replaces the T47 press-fit standard from the outgoing bike, cutting bottom bracket weight by roughly 30 percent, and a UDH derailleur hanger sheds additional grams while keeping the frame compatible with SRAM's current wireless drivetrains. Choose the UL Black finish, a clear coat over raw carbon rather than a full paint job, and you save another 40 grams over the White Lightning colorway. ENVE calls a sub-6.8kg complete build on this frame "Mission 6.8," and says a 56cm UL Black Melee V2 can get there.
The details that don't show up on a spec sheet matter here too. ENVE redesigned the headset around smaller bearings for a cleaner front end, and the proprietary aero seatpost uses a new lightweight rail clamp design. The frameset runs a BSA bottom bracket, requires a braze-on front derailleur mount, and takes 12x100mm and 12x142mm thru axles with flat mount disc brakes throughout, so it's built around a modern disc-only, electronic-shifting setup. Tire clearance runs up to 33mm, with 31mm as the sweet spot for the frame's intended handling, wide enough to add real comfort and grip on rough pavement without turning a race bike into something else.
ENVE backs the Melee V2 with a limited lifetime warranty, the same coverage that applies across its frame lineup, which matters more on a frame at this price point than it does on a budget build. This is a frameset, not a complete bike, which puts the choice of groupset and wheels in the buyer's hands. ENVE's own complete builds on this same platform, the Melee V2 Premium RED and Pro RED, run $12,250 and $13,950 with SRAM RED AXS and ENVE's own SES wheels, which gives a sense of where a frame-up build on this chassis can land depending on what gets hung on it.
The Melee V2 Frameset comes in seven sizes from 47cm to 60cm and two finishes, UL Black and White Lightning. At $5,000, it's for the rider who already knows what groupset and wheels they want and is buying the frame specifically because it's the fastest, lightest platform ENVE has built to hang them on.
