DMT KR30 Road Shoe Info

The DMT KR30 Road Shoe uses a full Engineered 3D Knit upper to keep the shoe light and breathable without giving up the structure a road shoe needs under load. Variable thickness and knit density are built into the pattern itself, so the material flexes where the foot needs give and holds firm where it doesn't, letting the shoe adapt to foot shape without added padding or overlays. That single-material construction also keeps the shoe's overall weight down compared to shoes that layer knit with heavier reinforcement panels.

Closure comes from a single BOA® Fit System L6 dial with a twist-lock design, giving you one point of precise, even tension across the instep rather than a traditional lace or velcro closure. Underneath, an Air Tech carbon sole is paired with an aerated outsole design that adds ventilation without compromising the sole's stiffness for power transfer. A newly injection-molded heel counter locks the heel in place, and 8mm of front-to-rear cleat adjustability lets you fine-tune foot position over the pedal spindle. Reflective logos add a bit of visibility on low-light rides.

The KR30 sits below DMT's SH10 in the brand's road lineup — a single-dial, full-knit shoe built for riders who want the fit benefits of knit construction and BOA precision at a lower price point than DMT's dual-BOA models. It's available in Black, White, and Sand, sized 37 through 48.

The RA Perspective

The KR30 is DMT's more accessible take on the knit road shoe, and it's a good one. Going with a full knit upper instead of DMT's hybrid knit-and-microfiber construction (like the SH10) keeps the shoe lighter and lets it breathe better, though it also means slightly less structure around the heel and instep compared to that higher-tier model.

The single BOA L6 dial does the job well for most riders — one twist-lock dial gives you even tension across the whole shoe rather than the zonal control you get with a dual-dial setup. It's simpler to use and there's less to think about mid-ride, which some riders actually prefer.

The aerated Air Tech carbon sole is stiff enough for hard efforts and rewards a confident pedal stroke, and the ventilation is a real plus on warm days. Riders coming from a shoe with more forgiving flex in the sole may notice more road feel here, which is typical of a full-carbon sole at this stiffness level.

We'd point this shoe at riders who want a genuine performance fit and carbon-sole stiffness without paying for dual-BOA precision they may not need. It's a strong value pick for club riders and racers alike who want DMT's knit fit at a more approachable price.
