Wolf Tooth Direct Mount Chainrings for SRAM 8-Bolt Mountain Cranks Info
Wolf Tooth Direct Mount Chainrings for SRAM 8-Bolt Mountain Cranks
If you’re running SRAM Transmission and you’re ready to go beyond the stock chainring, this is where you start taking control.
The Wolf Tooth Direct Mount Chainrings for SRAM 8-bolt mountain cranks are designed specifically around SRAM’s T-Type Transmission drivetrains and chains. They let you choose the chainring size that truly matches your riding style, while upgrading to a stiffer, lighter, made-in-USA ring with an optimized tooth profile for better chain control.
Dialed for SRAM Transmission and T-Type chains
These chainrings use Wolf Tooth’s patented Drop-Stop® B wide–narrow tooth profile, tuned for 12-speed chains and SRAM T-Type chains. In practice, this gives you:
- Excellent chain retention, even on rough trails
- Less noise and fewer dropped chains
- Improved mud and grit shedding for smoother running in bad conditions
Pair them with a clutch-style rear derailleur and you have a drivetrain that stays quiet and secure when the trail gets rough.
8-bolt direct mount compatibility
This chainring bolts directly to SRAM’s 8-bolt mountain crank interface, replacing your existing direct-mount ring or your spider-and-ring combination.
Compatible with:
- SRAM T-Type Transmission AXS cranksets
- SRAM Transmission 70 and 90 series cranks
- 2025 Cane Creek eeWings Titanium cranks (8-bolt)
- Other cranksets that use the SRAM 8-bolt direct mount standard
SRAM T-Type DUB Wide MTB cranksets use this 8-bolt standard, so these rings are a direct upgrade option.
Offsets and chainline made simple
Chainline is how far your chainring sits from the center of the bike. A correct chainline means smooth, quiet shifting and longer drivetrain life.
Wolf Tooth offers two offsets so you can dial in your setup:
-
3 mm offset
- Ideal for SRAM MTB cranks with DUB Wide spindles designed around a 55 mm Transmission chainline
- Also used to achieve a 52 mm chainline with standard DUB MTB cranksets
-
0 mm offset
- Designed for SRAM XX1 SL DUB cranks to move the chainline from 52 mm out to 55 mm for T-Type Transmission compatibility
If you’re running full SRAM Transmission with DUB Wide, you’ll typically choose the 3 mm option. If you are on XX1 SL and converting to T-Type spacing, the 0 mm ring is usually the right choice.
Built to be ridden hard
Each chainring is CNC-machined in the USA from 7075-T6 aluminum, striking the balance between low weight and durability for aggressive riding.
