That trade-off comes with slightly more resistance per stroke, but for riders running wider tires, it's the right exchange. At 228mm long, it fits easily in a jersey pocket or bag without taking up much real estate.
The Core is best matched to 30mm road tires or wider — gravel, cyclocross, and mountain bike tires all benefit from the higher volume output. A hose hides inside the barrel when not in use, keeping the pump compact and snag-free, and the screw-on Presta head at the end of the hose makes for a secure connection at the valve.
