Lezyne Radar React Light System Info

The Lezyne Radar React Light System is a two-piece front and rear lighting set built around one core idea: knowing what's behind you before it reaches you. The Radar Drive rear light detects approaching vehicles and sends real-time alerts to three places simultaneously — the React Drive front light on your bar, the Radar Ally smartphone app, and compatible GPS bike computers. No looking back. No checking a screen. The alert comes to you.

The Radar Drive does the detection work, scanning for vehicles approaching from behind and transmitting wirelessly to the React Drive up front. The React Drive processes those signals and delivers both a visual flash and an audible tone directly on the handlebar — no phone, no head unit required for in-ride alerts. For riders who want more, the Radar Ally app adds manual control of both lights and a phone-based radar display, and the system pairs with compatible GPS computers for on-screen vehicle warnings. Both lights are custom-programmed to work together as a single wireless system out of the box; a smartphone is needed for the initial pairing, then the system runs independently.

The light performance holds up on its own terms. The React Drive front reaches 1,200 lumens with up to 70 hours of runtime — enough output for night riding, enough runtime that charging becomes a weekly task rather than a daily one. The Radar Drive rear puts out 300 lumens with a 20-hour runtime and runs disruptive daytime flash patterns designed to catch drivers' attention before any radar detection is needed. Both lights are IPX7 waterproof and charge via USB-C.

Design Benefits

  1. On-bar vehicle alerts: React Drive delivers visual and audio warnings directly — no phone or head unit needed during the ride.
  2. Triple alert pipeline: Front light, Radar Ally app, and GPS computer all receive alerts simultaneously.
  3. 1,200-lumen front with 70-hour runtime: Full night-riding output with runtime that outlasts most training weeks between charges.
  4. Integrated wireless system: Custom-programmed pairing — both lights work together from the start, no configuration required.
  5. IPX7 + USB-C on both lights: All-weather capable, modern charging standard throughout.

The RA Perspective

The Radar React is the system we recommend when riders ask how to get rear radar without buying a standalone radar unit and separate lights and figuring out how to get them to communicate. Everything here is integrated at the factory: the Radar Drive and React Drive are custom-programmed to work as one system, and the alert pipeline requires no configuration beyond the initial pairing.

The alert delivery on the React Drive front light is what matters most in practice. Knowing a vehicle is approaching from behind is most useful when you're least able to check a screen — deep in the drops on a descent, grinding a long climb, or riding in rain where looking at a phone isn't realistic. The visual flash and audio tone on the bar give you the information without any attention shift required.

The light specs stand on their own as well. 1,200 lumens from the React Drive is genuine night-riding output. The 70-hour front runtime is the detail that often surprises riders — most front lights at this brightness run out significantly faster. On a normal training schedule with regular evening rides, we've seen riders go a week or more between charges. That kind of reliability changes how you think about the light — it becomes part of the bike rather than something you have to manage.

At $279.99 for the complete two-light system with radar integration, the Radar React is competitive against building the same capability from separate components. The integration makes it worth it.
