The ventilation architecture is the Trenta's defining characteristic. At the front sits a NACA vent — a design concept developed by the NACA research agency, the precursor to NASA — that uses the Venturi effect to draw cooling air through the helmet and push warm air out through precisely positioned exhausts. It provides a strong airflow channel without opening up a large surface area that would create drag. At the rear, a flat deflector inclined at 25° creates two wide exhaust ports that are specifically shaped to keep air moving when you're in the drops at speed. A tube-shaped aerodynamic tail works with both systems to direct airflow efficiently, and was refined through wind tunnel work at MET's NEWTON laboratory in Milan.

Fit is handled by the SAFE-T ORBITAL system, which uses an all-round 360° retention belt combined with four positions of vertical adjustment and two positions of occipital adjustment at the back of the head. The result is a fit that dials in both the height and depth of the helmet independently — useful for riders who have trouble getting a standard retention system to sit correctly. Dedicated sunglasses ports let you dock your glasses on the helmet securely, and the system is compatible with MET's USB LED tail light.

Design Benefits

1. NACA vent ventilation without drag: The Venturi-effect inlet channels air through the helmet and out through the rear exhausts, maintaining consistent airflow at race pace. Because the vent geometry is optimized aerodynamically, it doesn't create the wind resistance that a large open vent would.
2. 25° rear deflectors for in-the-drops airflow: Most helmet ventilation is designed for an upright riding position. The Trenta's rear deflectors are specifically angled to optimize exhaust airflow when your head is pitched forward on the drops — the position where heat buildup matters most.
3. MIPS rotational protection: The MIPS layer sits between the EPS liner and the comfort padding, allowing the helmet to slide up to 10–15mm relative to your head in a rotational impact. MET describes this as adding 10% additional safety in certain impact scenarios.
