MET Manta MIPS Tadej Pogacar Limited Edition Helmet Info

The MET Manta MIPS Tadej Pogačar Limited Edition Helmet is the race helmet Tadej Pogačar chooses to wear when it matters most, now available in a limited-edition iridescent colorway that shifts with light and motion. It's a fitting tribute to a rider who seems to operate in a different gear than everyone else — and it's a fully functional piece of WorldTour-developed aero equipment, not a cosmetic exercise. At $359.95, you're getting the same helmet that's been refined through wind tunnel testing and elite race experience, finished in a colorway no one else on your group ride will have.

MET developed the Manta's aerodynamics in the NEWTON laboratory in Milan, using wind tunnel data to shape the helmet's low, tube-shaped rear profile. The result is a silhouette that minimizes drag without sacrificing the ventilation you need for sustained efforts. MET's signature NACA vent works in concert with internal air channeling and a specifically positioned exhaust — managing airflow through the helmet while keeping the exterior clean and aerodynamically neutral. The in-mould polycarbonate shell bonded to EPS keeps the structure lightweight with extended coverage, and Mips® is fully integrated to reduce rotational forces during angled impacts. Every production batch goes through MET's in-house crash-testing facility before it ships.

The fit system is the Safe-T Orbital, which draws its internal geometry from the award-winning MET Trenta 3K Carbon. A 360° head belt distributes pressure evenly across the skull — no hot spots, no contact points that dig in on long rides — and offers four positions for vertical adjustment and two for occipital adjustment. It's ponytail compatible and MET USB LED light compatible. The Fidlock® magnetic buckle snaps closed quickly and securely, without fumbling with a traditional buckle mid-transition or at the start line. Two dedicated sunglasses ports keep eyewear docked and out of the way when you don't need it.

Design Benefits

  1. WorldTour-proven aerodynamics — developed through wind tunnel testing and refined across elite race conditions, not just optimized on paper
  2. NACA vent + internal channeling — manages airflow through the helmet without disturbing the low-drag exterior profile, so you don't have to choose between aero and breathability
  3. Mips® rotational protection — a low-friction layer that reduces rotational forces on the brain during angled impacts, backed by MET's in-house crash-testing on every production batch
  4. Safe-T Orbital fit — 360° head belt with fine-grained vertical and occipital adjustment gives a dialed, pressure-free fit across a wide range of head shapes
  5. Fidlock® magnetic buckle — closes faster and more reliably than a standard buckle, whether you're in a triathlon transition or just suiting up for a morning ride

The RA Perspective

The Manta MIPS has been one of our go-to recommendations for riders who want genuine aero performance without committing to a fully closed aero helmet. It breathes better than you'd expect for a helmet this aerodynamically focused, and the fit system — which borrows its geometry from the Trenta 3K Carbon — is one of the better ones we've seen at this price point. The Safe-T Orbital's 360° adjustment gets the helmet sitting exactly where it should, and once it's dialed, it stays there.

The Pogačar edition is the same helmet underneath, with the added draw of an iridescent colorway that's genuinely striking in person. Depending on the light, it reads anywhere from white to silver to a soft color shift — it's subtle enough for a race but distinct enough that people will notice. If you were already considering the standard Manta MIPS, the price difference for this edition is minimal and the colorway is far more interesting.

The Fidlock magnetic buckle is a detail worth mentioning — it sounds like a small thing until you've used one. Snapping a helmet closed one-handed in the dark before an early morning ride, or quickly doffing it at a cafe stop, is meaningfully easier than a traditional buckle. MET also includes two sunglasses ports, which we find more useful than expected on helmets with a real aero profile (since stashing glasses on the helmet during a climb is harder without them).

One note on sizing: the Manta fits true to size in our experience, but if you're between sizes, we'd lean toward the larger. The Safe-T Orbital gives you enough adjustment room to dial it in, and a slightly larger shell fits more comfortably than one that's borderline too small.
