The Bell Super Air R MIPS Helmet is an all-mountain helmet built around a simple idea: one helmet for the climb and the descent. A removable chin bar attaches and detaches in two clicks with no tools required, so you can ride light and open-face on the way up and add protection before dropping into rougher terrain on the way down.

Safety comes from Bell's Spherical Technology working with MIPS — a ball-and-socket design that lets the outer liner rotate around the inner liner during a crash, helping redirect impact forces, including rotational ones, away from the brain. An integrated breakaway camera mount rounds out the safety design, engineered to snap off on impact rather than transferring force through a rigidly mounted camera. At 640 grams (size M), it stays reasonably light for a helmet built around a removable chin bar rather than a single fixed shell.

Fit and airflow get the same attention as impact protection. The Float Fit dial system is minimalist and integrated with MIPS, so adjustments stay simple without adding bulk. An adjustable visor handles sun protection and doubles as goggle storage, Overbrow Ventilation channels air from brow intake ports through the shell for full-head airflow, and the Sweat Guide pad keeps moisture off your eyewear on hard climbs. A rubber Goggle Gripper on the back keeps your strap from sliding out of place.
