3T Strada Italia Frameset Info
3T Strada Italia Frameset is built in 3T's own factory in Bergamo, Italy — the same facility that produces the RaceMax Italia and Extrema Italia — using a manufacturing process that is rare at any price point in road cycling. The material is Jazz Carbon, 3T's proprietary combination of filament-winding and Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) technology: high-strength and high-stiffness fibers injected with resin in-mold rather than conventional pre-preg layup. That distinction matters on the road. The Strada Italia is reactive without harshness — the kind of responsiveness that rewards hard accelerations and sharp corner exits — while the lower seat tube's layup is tuned specifically for vertical compliance, absorbing surface vibration without bleeding pedaling efficiency. Built and designed entirely in Italy, the Strada Italia is a statement about how a road frame should be made.
The design starts with an honest premise: a modern road bike should be engineered around the tires, not adapted to them after the fact. 3T built the Strada Italia around 30–35mm WAM (Width As Measured) tires — the real-world dimensions of modern road rubber accounting for actual rim width and pressure, not just the number on the sidewall. That wide-tire-first approach shapes the geometry, the tube profiles, and the aerodynamics throughout. 3T's aero testing is conducted at both 20 mph and 30 mph, with bottles in place and real-world conditions in mind. The result is a frame whose aerodynamic optimization reflects how the bike actually gets ridden, rather than what looks efficient in a press release.
At the front end, the Fundi Integrale II fork uses deep, thin asymmetric blades with a Sqaero airfoil profile and integrated direct-mount brake placement preset for 160mm rotors — no adapters, no flip-flop hardware. The head tube is deliberately narrow, with all cables routed internally via 3T's Integrale technology; inside it sits a 1.5" lower steerer section for stiffness without added width. The downtube uses a narrow neck that closely follows the front wheel for airflow transition, widening into a broad body that shields water bottles aerodynamically — effective with a single large bottle in the lower position, and still useful with a two-bottle setup. At the rear, the seat tube's curved aero cut-out wraps tightly around the rear wheel for both aerodynamic and compliance benefits, with the layup tuned to flex vertically and resist torsion. The UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) dropout is standardized and compatible with all current rear mechs, and a removable front derailleur mount keeps a clean 1x build possible.
The frameset ships with a complete cockpit: the 3T MORE Integrale stem and the 3T Aeroflux Integrale LTD handlebar. The Aeroflux LTD is 3T's top-tier integrated road bar, with aero profiling and full internal cable routing through the Integrale system for a clean, uncluttered front end. The MORE Integrale stem's standout feature is serviceability in the context of a custom build: stem height adjustments, stem length swaps, and complete stem removal for travel can all be done without disconnecting or bleeding the hydraulic brake hoses. A dedicated K-Edge GPS mount for Garmin and Wahoo computers is included with the stem — a practical addition that eliminates the need for an aftermarket mount on a bar system that makes aftermarket mounting awkward.
The Strada Italia is designed for electronic drivetrains only, compatible with SRAM eTap AXS, Shimano Di2, and Campagnolo Super Record Wireless. The bottom bracket shell is BB386 EVO. Thru-axles are 12×100mm front and 12×142mm rear, the rear specific to 3T's UDH dropout. A traditional Italian detail: a small transparent window on the downtube lets the carbon fiber weave show through the "3" and "T" logos — a reference to 3T's Italia manufacturing heritage. Four colorways are available — Argento, Oro, Reverb, and Project X, the last a bare-carbon finish for riders who want to paint custom or ride unpainted. Five sizes run from XS to XL. For builders committed to putting together a genuinely distinctive road bike, the Strada Italia is a foundation worth building around.
