The crank uses an Octalink splined interface, designed specifically for use with the Shimano Dura-Ace BB-7710 Track Bottom Bracket. That splined connection — rather than a square taper — creates a stiffer, more consistent engagement between crank and spindle, which you'll notice most when you're out of the saddle and driving hard through the pedals. The 144mm bolt circle diameter is compatible with Dura-Ace FC-7710 track chainrings ranging from 47T to 54T, sold separately.
