The SRAM PC X01 Eagle Chain was built specifically for 12-speed 1x drivetrains — a format that demanded a complete chain redesign, not just an incremental update. To fit a twelfth cog onto the cassette without sacrificing durability or shift quality, SRAM engineered the chain through a 31-step manufacturing process that produces flush hollow links, flat plates, and smooth radii with no sharp edges or chamfers. The result is what SRAM calls Flow Link geometry, designed to engage cogs and chainring more completely with reduced friction through the drivetrain.
Hard Chrome treatment extends wear life — SRAM claims four times greater longevity than standard chains — while a Titanium Nitride coating further reduces friction and resists corrosion. The chain ships with a PowerLock master link for tool-free installation. Note that this chain is designed exclusively for 12-speed Eagle drivetrains and is not compatible with 11-speed 1x systems.
