About Bike Cassettes

Cassette compatibility is one of the more confusing spec questions in cycling because freehub standards have multiplied significantly over the past decade. Shimano's HG (HyperGlide) standard is the most widely compatible, covering 8 through 12-speed Shimano and many SRAM cassettes. SRAM's XD and XDR freehubs are required for most SRAM 10-50T+ cassettes, including the full T-Type line. Campagnolo uses its own N3W (New Third Wave) freehub for 13-speed, and the legacy Campagnolo body for 11 and 12-speed. Before ordering, confirm your hub's freehub driver type — a cassette that won't seat is a return regardless of quality.

The 137 cassettes here cover every major standard. Campagnolo covers the 13-speed Super Record WRL range in multiple tooth configurations. SRAM covers road AXS (XG-1290), the new 13-speed E1 (XG-1391), and T-Type 12-speed (XS-1299, XS-1297) for XPLR and Eagle applications. Shimano covers road and mountain cassettes across the HG standard. e*thirteen's Helix Race and Helix Plus offer 11 and 12-speed mountain options with wide ranges up to 52T, plus replacement cluster sets for servicing existing cassettes rather than replacing the full unit.
