Bianchi Specialissima Comp 105 Di2 Info
Founded in Milan in 1885, Bianchi is the oldest bicycle manufacturer still in continuous production — a heritage that shapes both what their bikes are named and what they're expected to do. The Bianchi Specialissima Comp 105 Di2 belongs to the Specialissima line, Bianchi's dedicated all-around road platform developed alongside the Oltre (their pure aero bike) to handle terrain where raw aerodynamics aren't the complete answer. The Specialissima was built around the idea that the tension between low weight and aerodynamic efficiency doesn't have to be a zero-sum trade — by combining lightweight carbon construction with aero tube profiles, the frame is designed to be genuinely competitive on climbs and credibly fast on the flat. The Comp is the entry point into this platform: full carbon frame and fork, fully internal cable routing, Shimano 105 Di2 electronic shifting, and 33mm carbon wheels, all under 8kg fully built.
The frame uses full carbon construction throughout, with D-shaped tube cross-sections designed to manage airflow as a coherent system rather than as a series of individual problems. The downtube, seatstays, and seat tube all share the same aerodynamically optimized profile, and the full carbon aero seatpost continues that shape with 20mm of offset to accommodate a range of saddle positions. Cable and hose routing disappears fully inside the frame via the Acros IS52 ICR (Integrated Cable Routing) headset — hydraulic lines, Di2 wires, and cable housings all route internally to the rear of the bike, keeping the cockpit and frame exterior uncluttered. The frame runs a BB-PressFit 86.5×41 bottom bracket shell and 12×100mm front / 12×142mm rear thru axles, meeting current race-standard tolerances for bearing alignment and torsional stiffness.
Shimano 105 Di2 represents the tier where electronic shifting becomes genuinely accessible without meaningful performance concession. The 105 Di2 7150 derailleurs and ST-R7170 shift levers deliver precise, consistent gear changes — no cable stretch, no adjustment drift, the same confident actuation from the hoods as from deep in the drops. The 50/34 compact crankset paired with an 11-34 12-speed cassette covers ground from flat roads at race pace to extended alpine gradients without forcing a choice between range and close-ratio spacing. Shimano 105 7170 hydraulic disc brakes handle stopping via Shimano RT70 Centerlock rotors (160mm front and rear), giving the Comp firm, modulated braking regardless of conditions or sustained descent heat.
Velomann Palladium wheels run 33mm carbon rims — aerodynamically meaningful on flat and rolling roads without tipping into the crosswind sensitivity that deeper profiles introduce. Both wheels run thru axles and sit at 24 spokes per side with an HG11-compatible freehub body. The Velomann AL6061 stem routes cables fully internally through the headset, keeping the cockpit clean even without an integrated bar and stem. The Velomann Aero Compact handlebar — 31.8mm clamp, 74mm reach, 116mm drop — puts you in a road position that's committed without being extreme, well-suited to group riding and multi-hour efforts alike. Pirelli P Zero 700x26 tires give the Comp a fast, responsive rolling surface from the factory.
Two colorways are available: Graphite/Black for a sharp, understated build, and CK16/Graphite — the version that's immediately and specifically Bianchi, the brand's signature Celeste against a graphite base, a pairing that has appeared on race-winning bikes for over a century. Six sizes run from 47 to 59cm. The Specialissima Comp doesn't include the integrated carbon cockpit found on the higher-tier Specialissima PRO and RC variants — that, along with higher-modulus carbon and Countervail vibration-canceling technology, is what distinguishes those models at a higher price. What the Comp does offer is the same Specialissima frame platform, electronic shifting, disc brakes, and carbon wheels in a build that leaves the cockpit configurable to your fit preferences, with room to upgrade into Bianchi's integrated system later if the build calls for it.
