Aerobars

Aerobars fall into three main categories. Clip-on extensions attach to a standard road handlebar and let a rider adopt an aero position without changing the rest of their cockpit — a practical starting point for triathletes on a road bike or athletes testing the position before committing to a dedicated tri frame. Integrated base bar systems replace the entire handlebar with a purpose-built aero cockpit that combines bar, extensions, and often the stem into a single unit optimized for aerodynamics and internal cable routing. One-piece aero bars are the most integrated option — a single carbon molding that defines the entire front end. Position adjustability varies significantly: clip-ons offer maximum flexibility; integrated systems offer aerodynamic advantage and cleaner aesthetics but require more planning to dial in before race day.
