It's a deliberate trade — C-Series carbon in place of TURQ, wireless electronic shifting instead of mechanical — and for a lot of riders, it's exactly the right call. The feel of a wireless drivetrain changes how you use the bike on every ride, and the C3 delivers that at a price point that makes the ASR platform more accessible.

The C-Series carbon frame carries the same geometry, suspension architecture, and platform DNA as the TURQ models. The 115mm flex stay rear suspension, Hangerless Interface, integrated fender, two-bottle clearance inside the main triangle, and a 66.5° head tube angle consistent across all sizes — these are unchanged. C-Series uses a different fiber grade than TURQ, which adds a small amount of weight to the frame, but the structural integrity and ride character are preserved. The T4 has the TURQ carbon — lighter, stiffer, objectively the more premium frame. It also has the XX1 Eagle mechanical drivetrain with TwistLoc grips that lock out both the fork and shock simultaneously. If you're a rider who relies heavily on that lockout for sprint efforts or extended climbing sections, the T4's integrated system is hard to beat.

The C3 takes a different angle. The frame is C-Series carbon, which is a step down from TURQ in weight but still a well-engineered, quality chassis with the same geometry and suspension design. What it gains is a fully wireless SRAM GX AXS Eagle Transmission drivetrain — no cables, direct axle mount, clean ergonomics. For a lot of riders, especially those coming from road bikes or who've ridden AXS before, the wireless drivetrain is genuinely better to live with. No cable stretch, no housing wear, nothing to adjust.

The SID Ultimate fork is the same spec as the T4's, which matters — front suspension is where you feel the most difference on technical XC terrain. The rear SIDLuxe Select+ is a step below the T4's Ultimate, and that's worth knowing.

Net-net: if the lightest possible setup and TwistLoc lockout are priorities, the T4. If you want wireless shifting and don't mind the weight tradeoff, the C3 is the move — and it's $700 less.
