RA Cycles Now Accepts HSA & FSA

A Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) are tax-advantaged accounts that let you set aside pre-tax dollars for qualified medical expenses. HSAs roll over year to year and are available with high-deductible health plans. FSAs are employer-sponsored and typically must be used within the plan year. Both can save you 30–40% on eligible purchases.

Cycling products that support a diagnosed medical condition may qualify as HSA/FSA-eligible with a Letter of Medical Necessity (LOMN). This can include bike fitting services, ergonomic saddles, prescription cycling eyewear, and other products recommended by a healthcare provider. At checkout, Flex will guide you through a brief eligibility questionnaire to determine if your purchase qualifies.

At checkout, select "Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA" as your payment option. You'll be prompted to complete a brief telehealth consult to confirm eligibility. Then enter your HSA or FSA debit card details and complete your purchase as usual. If you don't have your card handy, you can pay with a regular card and submit the receipt to your provider for reimbursement.

A Letter of Medical Necessity is a document from a licensed healthcare provider confirming that a product or service is medically necessary for your condition. Flex handles this for you — after completing the eligibility questionnaire at checkout, a licensed provider reviews your information and Flex emails you the LOMN within a few hours of your purchase. Keep it for your records.

Yes. Select "Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA" at checkout and complete the eligibility process, but enter a regular credit or debit card for payment. Flex will email you an itemized receipt after your purchase. Submit that receipt to your HSA or FSA provider for reimbursement.

The most common reason is insufficient funds in your account. HSA/FSA cards can also be declined if the card number, expiration date, or billing zip code is entered incorrectly. Check your account balance with your provider and verify your card details before trying again.

We strongly recommend it. While HSA accounts follow IRS guidelines, employer-sponsored FSAs may have additional restrictions on what products qualify. Checking with your provider before purchasing ensures a smooth experience.
