ENVE was founded in 2007 by Jason Schiers in Ogden, Utah, under the name EDGE Composites — rebranded to ENVE in 2010. Schiers came to cycling through aerospace and NASCAR, where he developed the carbon fiber manufacturing expertise that would define ENVE's approach: a belief that molding process matters more than raw material, and that a component built correctly should last for years, not seasons. That philosophy earned ENVE its first World Cup downhill race win with carbon wheelsets and over 50 additional podium finishes, including years sponsoring the Santa Cruz Syndicate with Greg Minaar and Steve Peat.
