Wilier Rave SLR ID2 GRX Bike Info
The Wilier Rave SLR ID2 GRX Bike is Wilier's most focused gravel racing frameset brought to market as a complete build — optimized for speed across mixed terrain rather than loaded adventure touring. Wilier has been building competition bicycles in the Italian Veneto since 1906, and the Rave SLR reflects that tradition: a frame designed for riders who want to contest gravel races and cover long distances fast, not a bike softened for versatility at the cost of performance character. The frame and matching fork are constructed using Wilier's HUS MOD carbon monocoque process, which integrates Liquid Crystal Polymer fiber into the layup alongside standard carbon fiber. Wilier applies this construction to both the main frame and the fork — a materials decision that shapes how the frameset manages stiffness under load while retaining enough compliance to stay manageable over a long day of rough riding.
The drivetrain is built around Shimano GRX, Shimano's gravel-specific groupset family, and the spec is assembled with clear intent. The rear derailleur is the GRX RX822, the top unit in the current 12-speed mechanical GRX lineup, paired with GRX RX610 shifters and a GRX RX610 crankset running a 40-tooth single chainring. That combination positions the bike's most mechanically demanding component — the mechanism responsible for managing a wide cassette range under off-road loads — at the highest spec level in the family. The cassette is a Shimano M7100 12-speed spanning 10-51 teeth, a spread wide enough for sustained climbing on remote ascents and fast enough in the upper gears to be useful on open gravel roads and paved transitions. The chain is Shimano M6100, a durable 12-speed option well suited to off-road conditions. Shimano GRX RX400 hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm Wilier-branded rotors handle deceleration at both ends, delivering consistent modulation across the range of surfaces and conditions gravel racing produces.
Miche Graff Allroad wheels provide tubeless-compatible rolling stock built for durability on variable terrain. The stock tire is the Vittoria Terreno T50 in 700x50 — a tubeless-ready file-tread design that balances rolling efficiency on packed gravel and hardpack against grip in looser conditions. The frame clears up to 700x52 for riders who want slightly more volume. The geometry is built for racing: head tube angles ranging from 69.2° to 72° across the size run position the front end aggressively without sacrificing control, and chainstays between 419 and 423mm keep the rear end responsive. The six-size run from XS to XXL covers a wide spread of rider dimensions — stack measurements range from 532 to 617mm and reach from 375 to 408mm — with each size offering a fit that shouldn't require extensive component changes to dial in. The Filante Carbon seatpost uses a -15mm offset, accounting for the relationship between seat tube angle and pedaling position on a frame with gravel-race geometry. A Ritchey alloy stem and handlebar keep the cockpit simple and serviceable.
The Rave SLR ID2 arrives in four colorways — Pixel Green Matte, Glitch Black, Neon Purple, and Byte Cream Matte — each in matte finish, which handles the inevitable surface contact of gravel riding better than gloss and keeps the visual weight of the frame focused on its lines rather than reflections. Available in XS through XXL, this is a bike built for riders who want Italian carbon construction, Shimano GRX gearing designed specifically for gravel, and a tire footprint capable of handling the kind of mixed surfaces that define modern gravel events. At $5,800, it sits at a price point where the engineering and component spec reflect the bike's race intent without the premium that comes with top-tier electronic shifting or carbon wheels.
