SRAM Force AXS E1 2X Groupset w/Hammerhead Karoo Info
The SRAM Force AXS E1 2X Groupset w/Hammerhead Karoo pairs SRAM's second-tier wireless road groupset with a GPS computer built by the same company, so you're set up to shift, brake, and navigate right out of the box. The E1 update to Force AXS trimmed 183 grams off the previous generation while improving front shifting speed and drivetrain efficiency, bringing it closer to the flagship Red AXS groupset without the flagship price. Everything in the box — front and rear derailleurs, shift/brake levers, hydraulic disc calipers, rotors, chain, batteries, and charger — runs on the same 12-speed AXS platform, so components shift and brake as one system rather than a collection of parts bolted together.
The rear derailleur uses SRAM's Yaw technology with auto-trim to keep the chain quiet and shifting fast across the cassette, and it's available with cassette ranges from 10-28T up to 10-36T depending on how much low-end gearing you need for climbing. The shift/brake levers get a redesigned hood profile that lets you brake with one finger from almost any hand position on the bar, which cuts down on hand fatigue on long descents. All of it runs on SRAM's Flattop chain, a narrower, cut-out design built specifically for 12-speed AXS groupsets that reduces friction and adds strength over a standard chain.
The bundled Hammerhead Karoo brings a 3.2-inch touchscreen built on Corning Gorilla Glass, readable and responsive even in rain or mud, alongside physical side buttons for control when a touchscreen isn't practical. Its CLIMBER feature automatically detects upcoming climbs even off a pre-planned route, and it reroutes instantly if you go off course. The Karoo syncs with Strava, Komoot, TrainingPeaks, Ride with GPS, and TrainerRoad, so ride data and planned routes carry over without manual exporting. Together, the groupset and computer give you a complete, matched upgrade path for a road or gravel bike moving to electronic shifting.
