The RA Perspective

The first thing we notice about the SES 6.7 front wheel is how composed it feels at speed compared to deeper aero wheels we've ridden. At 60mm, it's shallow enough that crosswind gusts on exposed roads don't shove the front end around the way a 70mm-plus rim can. That stability is the whole point of ENVE's "Real-World Fast" approach, and out on actual roads — not a velodrome — it's the difference that matters most.

Setting it up tubeless is straightforward. The hookless bead seats cleanly with tubeless tires in the 27-28mm range that ENVE recommends, and we haven't had issues with burping or slow leaks once it's mounted correctly. The tradeoff worth knowing: this is a hookless-specific rim, so tire choice matters more than it would on a hooked rim. Stick to tubeless-rated tires within ENVE's recommended width and pressure range, and it's a non-issue.

At 691 grams for the complete front wheel, it climbs better than we expected from an aero-depth wheel. It's not going to out-climb a lightweight box-section wheel on a long mountain stage, but for riders doing rolling road races, crit courses, or triathlon bike legs with any real elevation change, that weight-to-depth ratio is a genuine advantage.
