BMC Timemachine Mpc. Frameset Info
The BMC Timemachine MPC Frameset is BMC's dedicated time trial and triathlon platform, built in Mpc. Premium Carbon around a front end that works differently from most TT bikes. BMC has been building bikes in Grenchen, Switzerland since 1986, and the Timemachine is where that engineering goes into one job: holding a fast, repeatable position over a long effort.
A Front End Built as One Unit
The most distinctive part of the Timemachine is the fork and cockpit. The Halo+ bayonet fork is made from Mpc. Premium Carbon, with a stealth dropout design, flat-mount disc brake mounts and a 100x12mm thru-axle. The flat aero basebar is built into the fork instead of clamping to a separate stem, and the width is 353mm outside to outside and 328mm center to center on both frame sizes. Extensions attach to it, with custom extensions or the Profile Design Aeria 1 as the compatible options.
This changes how you fit the bike. With no stem to swap, adjustment comes from the extensions and the seatpost, and the page recommends a professional fit before you order. That is good advice for any frameset at this price, and it matters more here than usual. Think through your position first, then buy the frame.
The Frame and Fit System
The frame uses flat-mount disc brakes and a 142x12mm rear thru-axle, with a full-mount UDH hanger. It is designed around 700c wheels, and measured tire clearance is 30mm. Rotor sizes are 160mm in front and 140mm or 160mm in the rear. A bottle cage can be mounted, and the frame needs a braze-on front derailleur and a Press-Fit 86.5mm road bottom bracket.
The frame comes in two sizes. The small has a 507mm seat tube, and the M-L has a 537mm seat tube, while both share a 75.2-degree seat tube angle, a 410mm chainstay and an 80mm bottom bracket drop. The seatpost is also Mpc. Premium Carbon and sits in a forward configuration. Offsets are -5.5mm, -18mm, -30.5mm and -43mm, and an optional standard post is available in -18mm, 0mm, +18mm and +36mm offsets. That forward range is aimed at riders who want a steep, aggressive position, which is common in triathlon, where a more open hip angle can help the run off the bike.
Aerodynamics and Integration
BMC calls this its most advanced triathlon frame. Retailer descriptions say the tube shapes include deep, truncated airfoil sections and that the frame is meant to manage airflow across the whole bike, with internal cable routing and room for hidden hydration and storage. We would treat the aero details as design intent, since we do not have independent test data or a published frame weight to quote.
Building It
This is a frameset, so you need a bottom bracket, drivetrain, wheels and extensions to complete it. The maximum system weight, rider and bike together, is 242 pounds, which is worth checking against your own setup. The frameset is finished in black.
It is built for triathletes and time trialists who already know the position they want and are prepared to put together a build to match. Anyone who wants a complete bike that rolls out of the box should look at a complete build instead.
