The Blackburn Airstik 2 Stage Mini Pump goes both ways. It is designed to pump both high volume strokes and high pressure strokes. This way, you can use it for skinny road tires, fat dirt tires, and everything in between.
The key is the switch. You’ll find it at the bottom of the barrel. It looks like a simple light switch. If you’re starting from flat, start with high volume to put more air in the tire fast, go until it gets hard to pump, then switch to high pressure to make pumping easier. If you’re topping off a tire, start with high pressure.
This pump is designed pretty small; it’s 177mm long and has a diameter of 31mm. Because its something only dedicated cyclists will use—aka, it’s as small as they could make it—the head works with Presta valves only.
Weight for the Blackburn Airstik 2 Stage Mini Pump is 85g. The max pressure it can it is 160psi; thank aluminum construction for this. The pump comes with a frame mount that hides under the bottle cage. There’s a lifetime warranty on the pump.
