The Blackburn Mammoth 2Stage Anyvalve Mini-Pump may look small and simple. But its sophistication is really the reason to get it.
The head is Blackburn’s Anyvalve design, where you just shove it on to any Dunlop, Presta, or Schrader valve, flip the locking lever, and it’s secure. Easy peasy.
The pump is fairly slim and unobtrusive. It’s 15cm long with roughly a 4cm diameter barrel. If you utilize the included frame mount, designed to attach via your water bottle bolts, the pump can pretty much hide behind your water bottle.
Pumping it where you’ll see the sophistication. The 2Stage of the name refers to a switch embedded in the foot of the barrel. It has “low” and “high” sides. The low is for low pressure, and it means you get higher volume per stroke. Flip the switch and it’s the reverse, lower volume per stroke. Start on the low side and pump until pumping gets difficult, then flip the switch if you need to continue.
The Blackburn Mammoth 2Stage Anyvalve Mini-Pump is designed for mountain bikes, but with the switch, it can cover road bikes as well. Max pressure is rated at 120psi.
