We stock a lot of aero road bikes, and most of them ask the rider to make a deal: accept a stiffer, harsher ride in exchange for speed. The Bianchi Oltre Pro is one of the few that actually makes a credible argument for getting both.

The Countervail technology isn't just marketing. The viscoelastic material woven into the carbon layup changes how the frame handles road chatter — not by softening it into flex, but by absorbing the high-frequency vibration before it reaches your hands and sit bones. After a few hours in the drops, that difference is real. You can hold an aero position longer before your back and hands force you upright, and that translates directly into average speed over a long effort.

That said, this is not a forgiving bike. The geometry is aggressive — we'd strongly recommend a professional fit before you commit to a size — and at slower speeds or on recovery rides, the Oltre Pro feels less at home than it does when you're putting out proper numbers. It's a bike that rewards effort and punishes laziness, to borrow a phrase we've heard from more than one rider who's put serious miles on it.

The build spec is legitimately strong. Dura-Ace Di2 12-speed at the top of Shimano's lineup, Reparto Corse RC50 carbon wheels already tubeless-ready with Pirelli P Zero Race SL tires, and an integrated carbon cockpit that keeps the front end clean. At $11,500, you're getting a complete race setup you can compete on without opening your wallet again.

For riders who do their best work on flat-to-rolling terrain and want an aero platform that lasts — this is a bike we'd recommend without hesitation.
