It is a four-season rain jacket. It is good both on road and off. It breathes. It warms. It provides easy access to your pockets. It’s the go-to heavy rain protection for the BMC Professional Racing Team.
They combine a racing cut to minimize drag, with waterproof fabrics, stretch materials, and venting to get to a place where you’ll be hoping for rain so you can break the sturmPrinz out.
The main fabric is Triton, a waterproof/breathable textile. There are two versions of Triton used. The front panels are heavier, less breathable. The back panels are lighter and more breathable. The upper back panel is stretchy and waterproof, to get that click-fit Assos is known for. The reflective stripe across the back offers not only a measure of safety, but highlights where the zippered pocket slots are . The wrist cuffs are stretchy and keep you covered. There is also reflective striping on the front shoulders so the oncoming traffic can see you as well.
The zipper doesn’t let rain through, and the draft flap behind it offers both the security of knowing you’re protected and prevents your jersey or base layer from getting stuck in the teeth.
