The NS designation is deliberate — no sleeves, because race-fit jerseys leave no room for sleeve bulk, and exposed arm skin handles thermoregulation more effectively than mesh coverage when heat is the primary concern. The EQUIPE positioning places this at the premium tier of the Skin Layer line, above the standard Summer NS Skin Layer P1, and in the same product family as Assos's race-grade jerseys and bibs.

The garment is built from Assos's Circular Seamless Mesh — a fabric knitted in a continuous circular structure that eliminates traditional sewn seams through the body. The composition is 44% polypropylene, 44% polyamide, and 12% elastane. Polypropylene moves moisture away from the skin rapidly and resists water absorption — the baselayer stays as light at hour three as it does at the start. Polyamide adds durability and dimensional stability. Elastane delivers the stretch that allows the baselayer to follow the body through the full range of motion without binding across the shoulders or chest. The result is what Assos describes as a second-skin fit: the baselayer wraps tight, adapts to the riding position, and disappears under a jersey.

Raw-cut edges at the armholes and neckline remove any folded hem from the equation. There is no bunching, no friction point, no visible edge line under a close-fitting jersey — just a clean, uninterrupted surface against the skin. The open mesh structure promotes rapid evaporation across the torso, and Assos has refined the construction to reduce water absorption compared to the previous generation.
