Tecnología Body CooIng mediante el uso de xilitol y bloqueo de infrarrojos, 2XU ha diseñado un tejido para eventos de resistencia como ningún otro. El xilitol está integrado en el hilo del tejido para extraer el calor del cuerpo y el bloqueo de infrarrojos inhibe la penetración de los rayos infrarrojos para reducir la temperatura de la piel hasta 5,4 °F. The RA Perspective

The Long Distance Tri Short is one of the more technically sophisticated pieces in the 2XU triathlon lineup, and it earns that description through the fabric stack rather than just the spec sheet. ICE X is a legitimate cooling technology: the Xylitol-infused yarn actively draws heat away from the skin, and the IR-blocking component addresses solar heat load — which matters considerably on a long bike course in direct sunlight. The claimed 5.4°F skin temperature reduction is meaningful when you're four hours into a ride in July in Florida or Arizona.

The 70D KINETIC SPEED placement is targeted rather than full-coverage — 2XU positions it in the zones where aerodynamic drag is most pronounced during the bike and run. The compression from the 70D construction also supports the quads and hamstrings over a long effort, where muscle fatigue tends to manifest first.

The Elite LD Chamois is the right call for this application. Standard cycling chamois can be punishing on the run, and thinner general-purpose tri pads can leave athletes uncomfortable after several hours in the saddle. The LD Chamois strikes the right balance for a 70.3 or full Ironman distance, and the Y Elastic grip keeps the short from riding up through transition and the run.

We'd put these on athletes targeting long-course events who want a technically serious short. The ICE X cooling is particularly valuable for anyone racing in warm climates or peak summer conditions, where heat management directly affects run performance in the back half of a race.
