The 3T Strada Italia X Frameset sits at the top of 3T's Strada Italia road line, part of the brand's ITALIA X range — the highest expression of what 3T builds at its factory in Italy. Every ITALIA X frame starts as a standard Strada Italia, but only the frames that meet 3T's strictest visual and structural standards are pulled aside to become ITALIA X: framesets finished with a naked carbon surface rather than paint, so the weave itself is the finish. At $6,657 for the frameset alone, it's priced as a foundation for a custom build rather than a complete bike — riders spec their own groupset, wheels, and finishing kit around it.
3T builds the frame around continuous carbon fiber, laid using the company's patented Filament Winding process and cured through Resin Transfer Molding. These are proprietary techniques 3T uses to control fiber placement more precisely than traditional sheet-molded layup. Because the ITALIA X finish leaves that construction exposed instead of hiding it under paint, every frame's carbon texture reads slightly differently — an unavoidable result of a genuinely handmade, Made in Italy process rather than a uniform factory finish.
The frameset comes in three naked finishes: Project X Glossy and Project X Matte, both raw carbon-look surfaces with different sheens, and a newer Ink Carbon Look Orange finish that layers color into the resin without covering the fiber underneath. All three keep the underlying weave visible, which is the point of the ITALIA X line — it's a road frame that shows its own construction instead of concealing it.
The frame itself is the Strada ITALIA Integrale UDH, paired with a 3T Fundi Integrale II fork and a 3T MinMax Integrale IS42/34 | IS47/38 (36°) integrated headset. The UDH-compatible rear dropout, with 142x12mm rear and 100x12mm front thru-axles, opens up compatibility with SRAM's direct-mount Transmission drivetrains alongside more conventional derailleur setups. At order, riders choose between two integrated cockpits — the 3T More2 stem paired with an Aeroflux bar, or the one-piece Uno Ghiaia — both of which include a K-Edge GPS mount, plus 3T's own Prendo Speed bar tape and a 3T Strada Italia seatpost built around a Ritchey clamp. Tire clearance runs 28-35mm WAM (Width As Measured), with the frame tuned around 30-35mm WAM road tires — wide enough for the tubeless setups most road riders are running now for comfort and grip.
Every ITALIA X frame also carries an integrated NFC tag that links the physical bike to a digital passport, giving owners a way to authenticate the frame, pull up its specs, and access services tied to that specific serial number. 3T extends that digital identity into invitations to visit its Italian factory, access to select 3T events, and early looks at what the brand is developing before it reaches the wider public.
