3T was founded in Turin in 1961 by Mario Dedioniggi as Tecnologia del Tubo Torinese — quickly shortened to 3ttt. The brand built its name supplying handlebars to Italian pros: the Superleggera became the world’s lightest bar at 250g; the 1983 Aerodinamica was the first aero racing handlebar; and Francesco Moser used a 3ttt design to set the Hour Record in 1984. The Forma SL, introduced in 1989, created an anatomic grip shape so widely adopted it became the most copied drop bar design in cycling.
