Cuadro Espada Quintana Roo Info

The RA Perspective

The Espada is one of the more unusual framesets we've carried. Quintana Roo built it exclusively for us, capped at 50 units worldwide, and it shows in small details like the White/Black paint scheme you won't find on any other QR bike. It's not a marketing gimmick either — the aero tubing comes straight from the Lucero platform, which QR has raced and wind tunnel tested, so the pedigree behind the shape is real.

Buying a frameset means you're doing more of the legwork yourself. The standards here are refreshingly normal for a triathlon bike — 1 1/8" headset, braze-on front derailleur, 68mm English bottom bracket — so you're not chasing proprietary parts down the road if something needs replacing. That said, you'll want to source your own headset, groupset, and wheels, since this listing is frame, fork, and seatpost only as far as we can confirm.

The geometry is unmistakably tri-specific, with a steep 77-degree seat tube angle that rotates you into the forward position triathletes rely on. It only comes in a size S, so this isn't a frame to buy on a hunch — check your measurements against the geometry chart before committing.

We'd point this at a triathlete who's already comfortable speccing their own build and wants something genuinely rare in the process. If you like the idea of racing a frame with a 50-unit production run, this is about as close as it gets at this price point.
