Giordana Women's FR-C Pro Tri Doppio Suit Info

Giordana Women's FR-C Pro Tri Doppio Suit is a triathlon suit that splits the difference between a full skinsuit and a separate jersey-and-shorts kit. Giordana calls this construction the "Doppio" — the top and bottom are sewn together, so the jersey wraps around your shoulders and holds the shorts and chamois in place through the swim and the run, no matter how wet or how much you're moving. That same construction stretches the jersey fabric taut for a more aerodynamic fit and keeps the rear pockets from sagging once they're loaded with nutrition. A full front zipper, left detached from the shorts, keeps the suit from feeling restrictive when you're off the bike and running.

The jersey top uses Giordana's High Speed Light Lycra, woven with a directional stripe pattern designed to smooth airflow over your body, rated UPF 35+ for sun protection. The shorts switch to a medium-compression, abrasion-resistant Lycra Power treated with a durable water repellent finish, so they shed water fast and resist breaking down after repeated exposure to chlorine — UPF 50+ here as well. Giordana sewed in a tri-specific chamois with an aloe vera-infused top layer, built to stay comfortable across three disciplines rather than one, using Tri-Stitch construction for extra durability where the chamois meets the fabric.

Fit details carry through at every contact point: contoured panels at the waist, sleeve, and leg hems, with internal silicone tape at the sleeves and legs that grips skin without digging in, plus wide 7.5cm "Stay Put" bands at the leg openings to hold everything in place without cutting off circulation. Storage comes from two stretchy, side-access mesh pockets on the back of the jersey — big enough for a vest or arm warmers — plus two front pockets on the shorts sized for bars and gels you want to grab without reaching around. The suit is made in Italy and also available through Giordana's custom program for riders who want a fit built to their own measurements. For anyone racing multiple disciplines back to back, the Doppio pairs aero fabric with secure storage and a chamois built to survive the swim leg, so you can go from transition to transition without a wardrobe change.

The RA Perspective

We like the Doppio for anyone doing longer triathlons where comfort across three disciplines actually matters. The chamois is the standout — tri-specific pads usually feel like an afterthought bolted onto a swim-friendly suit, but the aloe vera top layer here is comfortable enough that you forget it's there on the bike leg, and it doesn't turn into a soggy mess once you're out of the water.

The tradeoff with a Doppio-style suit is that you're locked into one silhouette — the fit runs closer to a skinsuit than a traditional two-piece kit, so riders who prefer looser shorts or want to mix and match tops and bottoms across brands should look elsewhere. It also runs true to size rather than generous, so we'd recommend checking Giordana's size chart carefully before ordering, especially near a size break.

The rear pockets are genuinely useful in a way a lot of tri suits get wrong — they're deep enough to carry a vest or arm warmers without stretching out and drooping by the back half of a race. The front shorts pockets are a nice touch for gels you want without breaking stride.

We'd point this suit toward a triathlete doing Olympic distance or longer who wants one piece of kit for the whole day, rather than someone doing sprint-distance races where a simpler tri top and shorts combo would do the job just as well.
