Bont Riot TR+ 26 Shoe - Standard Info

The Bont Riot TR+ 26 Shoe - Standard is the latest version of Bont's popular Riot triathlon shoe, built around the brand's "slide and ride" construction method for fast entry and a secure fit once you're moving. Bont designed the TR+ 26 with anatomically correct shaping, and compared to the previous generation Riot TR+, it accommodates a wider range of foot shapes and sizes without sacrificing the locked-in feel triathletes need on the bike leg.

Underneath the foot, the shoe runs on a carbon composite base with a lowered carbon mid and forefoot shaping, keeping your foot closer to the pedal for efficient power transfer. On top, a dual-Velcro strap fastening system replaces the fiddly buckles and ratchets found on standard road shoes, letting you get in and out of the shoe quickly during a transition instead of losing seconds fumbling with closures.

Bont built the Riot TR+ 26 specifically for triathlon, so the fit and fastening prioritize speed in and out of the shoe over the fine-tuned adjustability of a road racing shoe, and the shoe comes in White and Black to match most kit setups. It's a solid choice for triathletes who want a dedicated transition-ready shoe rather than adapting a standard road cycling shoe to race-day use.

The RA Perspective

The Riot TR+ 26 is Bont's newest take on a shoe that's already popular with our triathlon customers, and the dual-Velcro fastening is the detail that sells it. Compared to a ratchet or dial closure, you can get your foot in and the strap cinched down in a couple of seconds flat, which adds up over a season of racing.

The anatomical shaping is worth mentioning too — Bont fits a bit differently than most road shoe brands, running closer to the actual shape of a foot rather than a generic last. Riders coming from a narrower shoe sometimes need to size down or try the wide version if Bont offers one for this model, so it's worth trying a pair on before committing if you've never worn Bont before.

The carbon composite sole and lowered forefoot shaping give a stiff, direct power transfer feel similar to what you'd expect from a road racing shoe, without extra features you don't need mid-race, like a full ratchet closure or heel adjustment dial.
