Assos Mille GT Spring/Fall Bib Knickers S11 - Womens Info
The Assos Mille GT Spring/Fall Bib Knickers S11 fill the gap between summer bib shorts and full-length winter tights, built for the cool, dry stretches of spring and fall when a full leg covering is too much but bare knees aren't enough. The ¾-length cut covers the knee without the bulk of full tights, and Assos's POLAR textile — a midweight thermal fabric with a brushed inner face made from over 50 percent pre-consumer recycled material — traps warmth against the skin while staying breathable enough to avoid the clammy feeling that comes with lesser thermal fabrics as effort and temperature shift over a ride. That balance is the whole point of a knicker over a full tight in transitional weather: enough coverage to stay warm at the start of a ride without overheating once the legs warm up and the pace picks up.
The chamois insert uses a Sundeck panel designed to reduce moisture retention, which matters specifically on a piece built for the kind of ride that starts cold and finishes warm — a chamois that manages moisture instead of holding onto it earns its keep exactly in those conditions. RollBar bib straps, adapted from Assos's Racing Series, keep the insert and body panels stable through a full pedal stroke rather than shifting or riding up over the course of a long ride. Raw-cut cuffs at the knee finish the ¾-length hem cleanly, without the bulky elastic banding that can dig in after a few hours in the saddle.
The Mille GT Spring/Fall Bib Knickers S11 come in Blackseries and are sized XS through 2XL, fit around hip measurement and rider height. They're built for riders logging real miles through the shoulder seasons — the ones layering up for an early spring group ride or stretching the season into October rather than switching straight to the trainer once the mornings turn cold.
