The RA Perspective

The C60 is a wheel that rewards honesty about the conditions you actually race in. If you're doing flat crits, TTs, or triathlons on a Shimano 12-speed drivetrain, these make an enormous amount of sense — 60mm of carbon, Shimano's best hub, tubeless-ready, and fully integrated with the rest of the groupset. That's a compelling package.

The Borozon-treated bearings and labyrinth sealing are details we appreciate. Hub sealing and bearing quality tend to get glossed over on spec sheets, but they matter over the lifespan of a wheel. We've seen plenty of high-end carbon wheels come through our shops with neglected bearings; the double-contact labyrinth design on the Dura-Ace hub holds up better to real-world training use than a simpler sealed bearing approach.

The honest tradeoff: 60mm is deep, and if you ride in areas with variable winds or hilly terrain, there will be days these aren't the right wheel to reach for. The C60 isn't trying to be an all-conditions wheel — it's trying to be the fastest wheel on a flat road in manageable conditions. It does that job well.

The compatibility note matters more than it might seem. This wheelset is Shimano 12-speed Road only. If there's any chance your drivetrain changes, or if you want to move these between bikes, make sure both setups are Shimano 12-speed before committing. For riders fully committed to the Dura-Ace Di2 ecosystem, that's a non-issue. For everyone else, it's worth verifying.
